Switchgrass. Requires a soil temperature of above 50 degrees and a more compact soil. Grass grows 3-5’ tall and is good for wildlife habitat and erosion control. Plant mid-May to mid-June in moderate soil.

Taking a soil sample is suggested prior to planting to determine if anything is needed to amend your soil. Missaukee Conservation District offers a cost share program to Missaukee County landowners. Contact 231.839.7193 or for more information.
