Interested in protecting your farm and helping the environment?
Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP) technicians work hand-in-hand with farmers to examine different aspects of their farms through risk assessment system tools, and all the way through implementation of environmentally sound practices to reduce identified risks.

There are four risk assessment systems divided into Farmstead, Cropping, Livestock, and Forest, and Wetlands & Habitats, each examines a different aspect of the farm and multiple systems can be used on one farm.
This program is voluntary and designed to reduce farmers' legal and environmental risks through a three-phase process:

The MAEAP technician provides assistance to agricultural producers in Crawford, Kalkaska, Missaukee, and Wexford counties.
