Native Plant Sale

  • Saturday, September 18, 9 am to 12 pm at Lake City Are Fire Department, 115 W John Street, Lake City. Pre-order Shoreline, Rain Garden, Grassland, Pollinator, and Butterfly kits for $65.00 at Individual plants will be available for purchase date of sale. Deadline to order is September 7, 2021. All proceeds support the Missaukee Conservation District Native Gardens and Nature Trail.

Hardwood Marking for Landowners


  • Saturday, September 25, 9 am to 1 pm; site will be at Misty Acres in Manistee County (exact directions will be given to registrants).

  • This hands-on, outdoor workshop is designed for landowners of small woodlots of northern hardwoods It will instruct how to selectively mark their own hardwoods for a harvest. The goal is to teach how to select trees to remove with an emphasis to improve the quality of the remaining stand; to thin the stand to improve growth and still maintain diversity and good minimum density. Other topics will include how to retain and manage important wildlife habitat components such as rare and sensitive habitats and species, mast trees, cavity trees, and coarse woody debris.  Density measuring devices will be given to workshop registrants. This workshop will only teach tree selection and will not teach volume estimation and appraisal. Preregistration is required. Snack and lunch will be provided according to COVID precautions. Family Farm Fest

  • Thursday, October 14, 2022, 4 pm to 7 pm at Dick Family Farm, 7710 South 7 Mile Road, McBain. Annual Meeting with a twist! It's taking place at Dick Family Farm. We'll have a director election, highlights of the past year, kids craft station, door prizes, their corn maze, robotic milking tour and more! Come join us! Just $10. Donuts and duck race are additional. Rather than have it catered we'll have Wheely Good Food Food truck on site should you want to purchase dinner. Purchase tickets at 

Household Hazardous Waste/Tire Collection/Shredding/Mattresses

  • Saturday, June 4, 2022, 9 am to 1 pm, held at Missaukee County Road Commission, 1199 N. Morey Road (M-66), Lake City. Household hazardous waste, tires, mattresses ($20 each) and on site confidential paper shredding.
