Also called Hard Maple. Known for its sap which is used to make syrup. A great shade tree. Timber is used for floors , furniture and cabinets. Often develops a dense canopy that provides a large amount of shade.
Grows best in moderate to wet soils in partial to full sun to a height of 50-70' at a slow to medium growth rate of less than 12" to 24" per year.
