Silphium perfoliatum

Flower Color: Yellow

Flower Time: Jul-Sept

Sun: Full sun to partial sun

Size: 4-7'

Moisture: moderate to wet

Notes: Attracts pollinators and/or predatory (beneficial) insects (see nativeplants.msu.edu.) - provides seeds, fruit, or nectar for birds, readily re-seeds, and is an opportunistic native plant - can colonize aggressively without competition. We reserve the term invasive for non-native species that uncouple the ecological process of the ecosystems they invade.
