Larix laricina - Native to Michigan

Also known as tamarack. A deciduous conifer whose soft needles turn bright yellow in the fall, drop off, and come back green in the spring. Grows in a narrow form and thrives in very moist ground such as bogs or swamps. Attracts birds and other wildlife.
