Castanea mollissima Native to Michigan
Help reinstate this once nearly-extinct species! Almost eradicated by chestnut blight, these are true natives and not resistant to the disease. Important wildlife value. Does not do well in wet areas.
Grows best in dry to moderate soils in full sun to a height of 80-100' at a medium growth rate of 24-36" per year.
Comes in a package of 5 trees.
