Earth Day

Although at Missaukee Conservation District Earth Day is every day. We have put together a fun day of events to honor our Earth, the spring season, and our backyard birds.
Join us for one or all! Participants will receive a coupon for one FREE Red Pine Seedling that will be available for pick up on April 28th, 10 AM - 6 PM or April 29th 9 AM - 12 PM at the MSU AgBio Research Station, 401 W. Jennings Road. Visit our store to see what else is available for purchase. Store will be closed after April 14th but drop by the day of sale to see what surplus is available and pick up your red pine seedling.

Upcycled Bird Feeders and Houses

Bring your own or use from our collection - we'll go over some ways to upcycle your plastic or glass containers to make bird feeders and houses.
Recommended items: pop bottles, peanut butter jars, glass bottles and jars, milk cartons and jugs, scrap wood, broken garden pots, hard plastic jars, discarded mugs/plates, metal cans, wine corks, old spoons, scrap twine/string.

Signs of Spring Hike
1 PM at Missaukee Nature Trail, 6180 W. Sanborn Road
Outreach Coordinator, Sara Huetteman, will lead a hike and talk about signs of spring in the forest. Great for all ages.

Volunteer at the Bird Wall
4 PM at Missaukee Nature Trail
End the day with some service to bird wall located along the trail. This includes checking bird boxes, cleaning the sitting area of any fallen branches, removing invasive species and installing new potted plants.
