Directors and Staff

Missaukee Conservation District is a local unit within the state government organized by the people within the District boundaries under provisions of the Soil Conservation District Law, Act 297 of Public Acts of 1937, as amended.  As such, it is a locally controlled resource management agency, created by concerned landowners and administered by a publicly elected board of directors.

The Missaukee Conservation District has five (5) Directors that are elected by the constituents of Missaukee County who possess a valid Michigan ID and are over the age of 18.  Directors make decisions regarding the District’s programs and activities. The directors hire qualified staff to conduct and carry
out the programs and activities that they have approved. These programs provide technical assistance, information, and awareness to assist individuals in the
District to properly manage their natural resources
.

Our next election will take place on Monday, February 18, 2013 at Timber Wolf Lake Camp, 4 miles north of Lake City just off M-66.

Missaukee Conservation District also has three (3) Associate Directors that provide information and assistance without having the privilege of voting at board meetings. Their input is invaluable and much appreciated!
